Please be aware that registration access is not always readily available for some of your major classes. Several major classes may only be added if you have the proper registration flag(s). The registration flag system has been established to reserve specialized courses for majors who have the appropriate skill level and/or proper prerequisites to succeed in the class(es). If you attempt to add a class and get this message: "The class requires departmental approval", you need to request a registration flag. You may plan in advance and request registration flags before your priority date; however, registrations flags will not override your priority registration date.

To request a registration flag, please contact the Advisement Center (D-444 HFAC or 801-422-3777). When your flag request is placed, it will be reviewed and if everything is in order, your flag will typically be set in place within 24 hours.
